Aerospace Defence Show
20 – 22nd September 2008

Just outside of Cape Town’s
CBD is the air force base, Ysterplaat.
This year’s show was fantastic
and the weather cleared just in time
that everything seemed to go down well
with the crowds. SAAF put everything
into the show and this was evident
in it’s ultimate success.
The north west team arrived and were
welcomed by the Golden Eagles who,
along with the task force and 44 Parachute
Regiment, had the chance to put across
some great sixteen man displays with
every one landing on the spot - not
bad from an exit from 2,500ft all on
one pass.
A total of seven jumps were performed
from the Friday through to Monday.
There was a great spirit between all
the jumpers and it was really good
to see everyone working together. Boss
Doug managing to lurk all the loads
dressed in black.
The crowds had a field day with all
the displays and the stands were a
sight to see. This is an international
event that will stand tall in the eyes
of the world. We were proud to be a
part of it.
Well done to all the organisers, participants,
sponsors and the South African Air Force
for making this event one to remember.
